The 100 Mile Club provides the opportunity to run or walk 100 miles at school during a single school year which improves school readiness to learn, creates better education outcomes, build self-esteem and the overall health in the lives of children and others.

Starting the first week, participants will go out to the playground, stretch out, and run a little bit. The miles and love for running begin to build almost instantly! When your child reaches 25 miles, he/she will be presented with a fantastic t-shirt that is designed to show off accomplishments throughout the year.

The 100 Mile Club is run by parent volunteers and meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week at 7:30 am. Students run or walk at least a mile on those designated days, working their way to 100 miles by the end of the school year. Families are invited to run or walk with their child every week which makes it a great school community weekly activity. TK and Kindergartners are welcome to participate in this program with parent supervision.

Volunteers are needed to lead stretching exercises for students before running. Please contact Longfellow parent, Crystal Bailey, at to volunteer or with any questions.
