Green Team Updates:

1.Join Cal Heights Neighborhood Association Clean Streets and Longfellow Green Team for a 1-hour community clean up! We’ll clean around Longfellow, Hughes and surrounding neighborhoods. 

Date: 4th Saturday of the Month, starting January 28, 2023

Location: Meet at Bixby & Olive

Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

What to Bring: Reusable water bottle, gloves, pickers, buckets (if you have them)

2. Celebrate MLK day with a day of service.  Stay tuned for a Green Team organized event, or pick from many Green service opportunities around Long Beach.  Some ideas can be found here.  Can't make it to an organized event?  Pick up trash in your neighborhood, teach a friend about recycling, or write a letter or email to a representative about an environmental issue you care about.

3. Volunteer Crossing Guards - support Walk to School Wednesday by volunteering to be a crossing guard.  You do not need to be available every Wednesday, just jump in when you can.  The shifts are before school from 7:30-8:05am or afterschool from 1:45-2:20pm.  Email greenteam@lblongfellowpta.org
